Churches
With approximately 65% of the population of Tanzania attending church every weekend, MCAN recognises the importance of working with church leaders and for these leaders to meet together in a non-denominational setting where the only reason for the meeting is to see churches work together to see that children are kept safe.
MCAN assists in creating a neutral platform where church leaders can receive input on improving their church’s care for children. Many churches have embarked on the journey of becoming Child Friendly Churches. The leaders are also encouraged to engage in discussions around how their congregations could be guided and lead to keep children safe and to make the church a safe place for children.
